Making people laugh, moving them and challenging perspectives: three passions that have driven La Compagnie qui pétille since its creation.

Based in Brussels, our professional theatre company creates productions with distinctive artistic identities, blending humour, genuine emotion and different perspectives on the world. From scripted theatre to improvised performances, we explore a variety of theatrical forms, united by one ambition: to tell stories that move, surprise and make audiences think.

We're also a socially engaged theatre company! Because theatre is a space for freedom and reflection, we bring important social issues to the stage: gender relations, sexism, social inequalities, discrimination and our relationship with difference.

Through our performances and Forum Theatre projects, we bring together the joy of performing, critical thinking and social engagement, driven by the belief that humour is also a powerful way to question the world around us.

Our company's composition also reflects our convictions. Under the artistic direction of Peggy Pexy Green, we have made a conscious choice to give women and FLINTA people a prominent place in improvisational theatre, with a majority of women and FLINTA performers in our productions. We also strive to bring together artists from diverse backgrounds, experiences and perspectives, enriching our creations through a variety of voices.

We are partners of Article 27, working to make culture accessible to as many people as possible. Our productions On peut rater sa vie à cause d'un seul mot and Freaks are also part of the Art et Vie – Tara network, recognised by the Cultural Department of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.

Our Story

La Compagnie qui pétille was founded in 2017 by Peggy Pexy Green, with the desire to bring her artistic vision and values to the stage, alongside performers who share her passion for humour, emotion and social engagement.

Over the years, the company has grown and expanded its repertoire, exploring improvised theatre, scripted productions and Forum Theatre.

Alongside its artistic productions, the company has developed tailor-made performances and professional training programmes for non-profit organisations, public institutions and businesses, responding to their needs and the issues that matter to them.

​

Rooted in Brussels but open to the world, the company also develops projects beyond Belgium, including in France, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Spain and Morocco.
