Where there's a will, there's a way?
The hairdresser's daughter who wanted to go on stage
A One-Woman Show by Peggy Pexy Green
Peggy is the daughter of a hairdresser and a mechanic.
She was supposed to know her place. She didn't.
And nothing went according to plan.
From her rapid rise into the upper classes to burnout as a senior manager in an international institution, followed by her attempt to break into the world of professional theatre, she has learned a great deal about what our society calls success.
In this solo performance, somewhere between a one-woman show and political storytelling, she uses humour to dismantle the myths of meritocracy. She explores the invisible mechanisms that keep working-class people away from theatre stages, taking us on a journey across social classes that is as entertaining as it is outrageous.
Expect a personal story, hilarious characters, sociology, exchanges with the audience and political reflections on culture.
The show is available for bookings.
